SLAY THE SPIRE CUSTOM CLASS
My goals was to create a Slay the Spire class that fit the base game but introduced some new mechanics.

I created three new mechanics
Summon: minion attack at the end of each turn, and when you are attacked they function the same as block, they die when they drop to zero.
Omens: a permanent effect placed on a target, only one omen on a target at a time. Placing the same omen on and enemy triggers its ending effect.
Return: draw a random card from your discard pile.

I also created a paper version of Slay the Spire so I could playtest and balance the character.

This was a great exercise in systems design, I decided early on that I wanted to create a character that feels like it would fit in the base game, not just thematically, but also in terms of design. I created three new archetypes, Summons that function similarly to the defects orbs. I used existing debuffs as a archetype, having card that scale with debuff on enemies. I then created Omens which are curses that are applied to enemies, these are entirely new to the game but I feel it matches the base game.
